The spirit of patriotism, unity and responsibility came alive at NSB Bangalore as the institution celebrated India's 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 at the NSB Amphitheatre.
This year's celebration centred on the theme “Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram” and “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @2047”, bringing together students, faculty and staff to reflect on India's journey and the role of young people in shaping its future.
A Morning of Patriotism and Purpose
The celebrations began at 9:30 AM with “Vande Mataram – A Tribute”, setting the tone for a morning dedicated to the nation's heritage, unity and aspirations.
The Director, NSB Bangalore, Dr. Srinidhi K. Parthasarathi, led the flag-hoisting ceremony. The unfurling of the national flag, followed by the National Anthem and Flag Song, created a solemn and memorable start to the celebrations.
Addressing the NSB community, the Director reflected on the importance of youth, education and collective responsibility in building a stronger Bharat by 2047.
Culture, Community and the Spirit of India
The formal ceremony was followed by cultural activities presented by the NSB community, bringing energy and colour to the Independence Day celebrations.
The performances reflected India's cultural richness while reinforcing the day's larger message: the future of the nation depends not only on economic growth, but also on educated, responsible and socially conscious young citizens.
